Frequently Asked Questions and Answers!
Will the Tour happen during the Global Pandemic?
Unfortunately due to the Pandemic, the tour will not go on in 2020. This is our 20th anniversary of the Lafayette Square tour and we are sad to be unable to perform it. But, we love telling ghost stories so we will be posting stories throughout October on our Pages!
Is a Scheduled Tour Ever Cancelled?
If there is an unexpected event, such as: Tropical Windstorm, Hurricane, Torrential Downpour or Marauding Bear Attack (actually, that last one is not likely), a tour might have to be cancelled. If this does happen, by 6:00pm it will be posted on our Facebook page
Does the tourline phone take reservations?
No it does not and you don't need to make reservations. You can purchase tickets online or at the tour.
Do I need to purchase tickets in advance?
You can purchase tickets in advance for all tours and you can purchase tickets at the tour. We recommend purchasing in advance for Ghost Story Tour but you can get tickets at the tour. Your guide arrives 15 minutes before tour time to sell tickets.
What if I have tickets for Ghost Story Tour and I arrive really late due to horrible traffic, or you know, bear attack?
We totally understand, those bears are tricky! Ghost Story tour begins at St. John's Church at 16th and H St NW. The first stories are told there so we depart that site at about 15 minutes after the tour begins. Then we head to the Hay Adams Hotel, H street side and after the Hay stories, we cross H street and head into Lafayette Square. We proceed west in the Square toward Decatur House. We stop by Decatur House and then we walk toward Pennsylvania Avenue.
What Happens If I have purchased Tickets for a Tour and that Tour is cancelled due to Force of Nature?
If you have a ticket for a tour that has to be cancelled due to Nature (Bears! Oh my!), just send us a tweet or email and Natalie will tell you how you can use the ticket on another tour. (We're very flexible because we know what it's like to find out that Wally World is closed).
Does anyone grab you on Ghost Story Tour of Washington?
Nope. It's a non-grabby tour. The stories are scary and the Park is atmospheric and the actors are good. You may be surprised but we promise, no grabbing. There is candy though!
Is there street parking for Ghost Story Tour?
Yes there is! It is metered parking. Check out this somewhat helpful website for parking info in DC and then backspace to return here

Is it okay to take pictures of the Actors and Guides on a tour?
Sure! Just no videotaping, if you please. We love it when guests send us photos that they've taken on tour. We're on Twitter and We're on Instagram
I need a historic character for small event. Do you have to be a museum to hire them?
Nope! We do large and small events. Contact Natalie for availability on the contact page
