The First Efforts at bringing the past to life: In 1999, Natalie launched a program " What's Past is Prologue" at the Historical Society of Washington. The first appearance was at an event that featured the City Council of Washington and then Mayor, the Honorable Anthony Williams. Upon meeting "Clara Barton", hizzoner quipped that she didn't look bad for someone that had been dead that long. Ms Barton returned serve by telling the Mayor that he didn't look bad himself! He roared and the evening was a success. Gale Munro played Clara and the award winning actor Fred Strother (currently acting on Broadway)played Douglass. As the Walking Tours became popular, we began receiving requests for actors in character. "Alexander Hamilton" went to Capitol Hill for an event and we were off and running. Need a character from Washington's past? Contact Natalie at mail at historicstrolls.com.
