Courage!

Washington's oldest costumed guided Civil War tour, Courage is a 90 minute exploration of the Civil War in Washington City. Done in an interactive style, this is a dramatic interpretation of life during Wartime in the Nation's Capital. On this tour you will walk in the footsteps of the most interesting people Washington has ever seen. Abraham Lincoln, Frederick Douglass, Mathew Brady, and more. You'll see Civil War and pre-war sites and you'll hear about characters from the time period (1861-1865). Courage follows the timeline of the war and the tour begins in "1861". Washington is abuzz. The new President has called for seventy thousand soldiers to protect the Capital. And it does need protecting as you will see on this tour. Washington City is set in a low-lying area, surrounded by Maryland and Virgina. Spies lurk among it's citizens and you can't even trust the friendly widow on H street!

Courge runs from April to November, third Saturday of the month. No tour in August or October.

Tour Dates 2014: November 15th led by Gale Munro
